In religions around the world and throughout time there exists a common theme- there are some kind of Gods and/or Goddesses. From Jesus to Moses to Buddha, powerful figures exist in these traditions. Another common theme with these figures that religious practitioners worship and look up to, is that they are beings associated with or bring the light, peace and love- or some variation of the three.
It’s hard to see through the fog these days with all of the religious animosity floating around. People of many religions argue about who actually is the one with the true and most important religion, proclaiming- “will the real God please stand up” if you will.
I believe that all religions are valid in their own right and can exist simultaneously with others, without this often conflict generating stance towards other religions. It may just be correct to assume there is a key to settling down this conflict- “common ground”. Even though the verses in religious texts are so vastly different in specific stories, there are a lot of common themes such as: good will, light, love, prosperity, being virtueous.
If people can find common ground, for example: light and love- they can adopt a brand new positive stance towards differing religions.
